Class, Put Your Pencils Down — The NFL Draft Is Tomorrow Night… And It Changes Everything
The NFL Draft is here.
And honestly?
After watching my NYC teams mostly shit their pants (except the Knicks—thank God), plus all the chaos… scandals, trades, dumb headlines, stadium nonsense…
This draft?
This is all I’ve got right now.
So yeah… it matters.
This Draft Feels Different (And It Better Be)
There’s real depth in this class.
Especially on the offensive line… and on defense.
Not that fake “high upside” bullshit we’ve been fed before.
Not “he’ll be great in three years if everything magically works out.”
No.
These are grown men.
They can play right now.
And that’s what this team needs.
Because we’re not rebuilding anymore.
We’re supposed to be taking the next step.
Let’s Not Pretend — The Misses Are Real
We’re not doing revisionist history here.
Biggest misses so far:
Velus Jones Jr.
Zacch Pickens
Dominique Robinson
Tyler Scott
Noah Sewell
Gervon Dexter
Shemar Turner
Noah Hyppolite
Zah Frazier
And yeah… I know it’s “too early” for some of these guys, but let’s not bullshit ourselves:
Not exactly screaming “home run draft class.”
That’s how you stay stuck.
That’s how you waste years.
If You Think the Draft Doesn’t Matter… You’re Out of Your Mind
Look at the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos after the Russell Wilson situation.
One rebuilt fast.
One won.
They weren’t better than us not that long ago.
Now?
They’re ahead.
That’s not luck.
That’s drafting like you actually know what the hell you’re doing.
What I Told My Friends (And I Meant This Shit)
You don’t get fucking cute.
You draft guys who can play. Now.
Not projects. Not maybes.
Last Season
Yeah… last season was fun.
Yeah… we look like we’re on the right path.
Cool.
But here’s the real question:
Can this GM actually put the right players on the fucking field?
Because that’s the difference between:
a nice little story
a team that punches people in the mouth in January
I said it before, and I’ll say it again: you draft to win your division.
Win your division… and you crack the window to the Super Bowl.
It’s not wide open, but it’s there.
And if you don’t hit in this draft? It slams shut.
What This Team Actually Needs
I love the idea of adding:
Safeties who cover and hit like a truck
Linebackers who make people hear footsteps and kill them
We need that edge.
Badly.
But let’s not overthink this…
Left Tackle Is a Full-Blown Emergency
This isn’t a “need.”
This is a holy shit problem.
Our left tackle situation is like a bathroom fire on an aircraft carrier.
You don’t fix that with gauze.
You fix it with steel.
And I don’t want to hear:
“Braxton Jones needs more time”
“He can develop”
No.
We’ve seen enough.
He’s done.
Move the fuck on.
The O-Line in This Draft Is Loaded — No Excuses
If you watched the Combine…
If you watched the playoff games…
You saw it.
These linemen are:
Big
Fast
Mean as hell
And honestly?
Better than what we’ve brought in recently.
And here’s the part people don’t want to say out loud:
If you pass on defense in Round 1, you better be taking a tackle—because you’ve got two second-round picks (57 and 60) to clean that up.
If there are 5–7 legit Day 1 tackles?
You go get one. Period.
No cute picks.
No reaching for “value.”
Fix the damn problem.
Supply and Demand — Don’t Screw This Up
This is simple.
There’s demand.
There’s supply.
And there WILL be a run on tackles.
So you either:
Be aggressive
orSit there like an idiot and watch everyone else fix their problems
Free Agency… And Why People Are Still On Edge
Some moves? I liked.
Coby Bryant — solid, big, experienced, not some ridiculous contract.
Devin Bush — risky, but if he’s right, it helps.
But let’s not pretend we don’t have scars.
That Dayo Odeyingbo signing last year?
Yeah… I’m still pissed.
Big money.
Big expectations.
Not a lot to show for it.
And that’s the problem.
It’s not even about him anymore.
It’s about trust.
And right now? That trust is shaky as hell.
This Is It for This GM
No more training wheels.
You’ve got:
The QB
The head coach
Momentum
Now?
Don’t fuck it up.
Because if you do…
No one’s saving you this time.
The Division Is Right There
Last year cracked the window open.
Just a little.
Now the question is:
Are we stepping on throats and opening it wider?
Or…
Are we going to sit there and hope?
Because hope doesn’t win divisions.
And For the Love of God — Enough Stadium Talk
Nobody gives a shit!
Win games.
Win a Super Bowl…
And the stadium will fall into your lap like pixie dust.
It’s not complicated.
This Is It
By the end of this weekend…
We’ll know.
Is this team:
actually building something
orjust another year of bullshit
